EZ Evals is a teacher-centered professional learning platform that allows educators to upload authentic instructional evidence and receive AI-supported alignment to instructional frameworks—without surveillance or loss of ownership.

Most teacher evaluation and coaching systems capture only a narrow snapshot of instructional practice—typically a single classroom observation.
This creates three systemic problems:
- Teachers lose ownership of their professional narrative.
- Coaching and evaluation conversations rely on partial or incomplete evidence.
- Schools lack a safe, scalable way to understand instructional practice at a schoolwide level without increasing teacher workload or surveillance.
This is not a failure of educators or leadership. It is a design limitation in existing systems.
What EZ Evals Does Differently
EZ Evals enables teachers to upload authentic instructional artifacts—lesson plans, assessments, reflections, photos, and instructional materials—into a secure, teacher-owned workspace.
The platform quietly suggests possible alignment to instructional frameworks using AI. Teachers remain in control at every step: they review, accept, override, or ignore AI suggestions.
Schools do not receive individual surveillance data. Instead, they gain access to aggregated, non-evaluative instructional patterns that support professional learning, coaching, and program improvement.
What’s Already Built (Current MVP)
EZ Evals currently exists as a functioning MVP built with intentional constraints around data ownership and human decision-making.
Current capabilities include:
- A working Next.js application
- Teacher-owned artifact uploads with structured metadata
- AI-generated framework alignment suggestions (advisory only)
- Confidence indicators attached to each AI suggestion
- Explicit teacher decisions captured as first-class data (accept / override / ignore)
- Clear separation between individual teacher views and schoolwide aggregation
The MVP is designed to validate product semantics and workflow—not just visuals.
A pilot school is confirmed and prepared to use the platform in a controlled demo environment.
Responsible AI by Design
EZ Evals is intentionally built with human-in-the-loop AI constraints.
- AI suggestions are never automated judgments
- No scoring, ranking, or evaluative labels are generated
- Teachers decide how (or if) AI output is used
- All instructional evidence remains teacher-owned
- Schoolwide insights are aggregated and non-identifiable
The platform is designed to support professional reflection and growth—not compliance, surveillance, or punitive evaluation.
Technical Direction & AWS Alignment
EZ Evals is being built with a cloud-native, event-driven architecture designed for security, scalability, and responsible AI integration.
Planned AWS usage includes:
- Amazon S3 for secure storage of teacher-owned instructional artifacts
- AWS Lambda to trigger AI analysis workflows upon artifact upload
- Amazon Bedrock for framework-alignment suggestions using foundation models
- Amazon DynamoDB for metadata, confidence tracking, and teacher decision records
- AWS IAM to enforce strict role-based access and data isolation
This architecture supports future multi-school scaling while preserving privacy and data ownership boundaries.

Erin is an educator with over 21 years of experience in secondary education, instructional coaching, and assessment literacy. She has worked directly with students, teachers, and administrators across public and private school settings.
EZ Evals was built from firsthand experience with the limitations of traditional evaluation systems—and from a belief that teachers deserve ownership of their professional work and narrative.
The platform reflects deep domain expertise, real school partnerships, and a commitment to ethical, teacher-centered technology.
